Former amateur boxer Billy Allington say’s he is ready to take his boxing career to the next level on Saturday May 9th, as he prepares to make his Queensbury debut at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey.
The 20 year-old youth worker from Egham in Surrey will make his competitive debut against Essex contender Muhammed Seif on the stacked Unfinished Business undercard, and after calling time on his amateur career Allington has set his sights on reaching the very top of the UK’s premier boxing league starting with a victory early next month.
As an amateur representing Woking ABC, Allington travelled as far as America to take on some of the best in the unpaid ranks, and reached several national quarter finals as well as claiming silver medals at the Haringey box cup in London, but the Surrey stylist won’t have far to travel far for his next outing as he embarks on the next phase of his boxing journey.
Talking ahead of his debut in the league Allington said: “ The Queensbury Boxing League is an exciting new platform for me to progress my career on and take it to the next level, and I can’t wait to be competing on such a big stage.
“ I did well in the amateurs and enjoyed my time there, but now the goal is to make a name for myself in the league and ultimately win belts.
“ Style wise I’m a very creative fighter who likes to mix it up and use angles against my opponents.
“ I don’t want to give too much away in case Seif is reading this, but I’ll be more than ready on May 9th and I’m really looking forward to boxing in front of my fans.
