Quest Knockout Tournament favourite Gareth Gardner will now face new league signing Bradley Spencer in the opening Quest quarter final on Saturday November 28th, after original opponent Leo O’Reilly pulled out from the contest for personal reasons.
Spencer, a 35 fight veteran from Heathrow will take up the gauntlet of facing the divisions number 1 after originally training to appear on the undercard of the league’s end of season finale, and the baby faced assassin believes he’s going to produce something special on the night and become the first man to defeat the current Queensbury British middleweight champion.
Spencer has built up a reputation as one of the most exciting young prospects outside of the league over the last three years winning several titles across various organizations, and the fresh faced 20 year old has no fear in facing Gardner on the biggest stage of his career at the season finale.
Talking to QBL TV after being confirmed for the tournament Spencer said, “ I’ve followed Gardner’s career and seen how good he is, but I think his style is perfect for me and I can’t wait to face him on the 28th.
“ For the league's fans who don't know me I’m a back foot counter puncher who likes his opponents to come forward, so Gardner’s relentless pressure style of fighting is perfect as it means I won’t have to chase him, and I’ll make him pay for his mistakes”
“ I’d been training really hard for my appearance on the undercard and I’ve never felt this focused or prepared before a fight, and beating Gardner and winning the Quest title would definitely be my biggest night in boxing.
Spencer will collide with Gardner in the first of four quarter finals on Saturday November 28th, and general admission tickets are still on sale from the box office on 0203 751 8599
