Queensbury regional Featherweight title challenger Buster "Bad Boy" Stevens believes his hotly anticipated rematch with divisional rival Luke "Pocket Rocket" Pearson next Saturday night, could turn out to be the fight of the night.
Stevens, 20 from Canvey Island in Essex will travel down to West Sussex to take on Pearson in his own backyard on the undercard of the league's penultimate show of the year at the Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex, and the young prospect who is trained by former Southern Area champion and British title challenger Georgie Smith is determined to put on the performance of his life to shatter Pearsons dream of lifting the title in front of his hometown support.
Talking ahead of the clash that features on the undercard of the big REISSER FACE OFF promotion being filmed for Eurosport, Stevens said “ Fighting for the title is going to be the biggest fight of my career so far, and I’m looking to put on a show next Saturday night".
“ Fighting in the league and boxing for this belt means the world to me, and I can’t wait to box in front of all my fans that are making the journey down to West Sussex for the big title fight.
Stevens last shared the ring with Pearson back in May when the pair battled it out in a contender for fight of the night on the undercard of the REISSER HIGH STAKES promotion, and with even more on the line this time around in a mouth watering rematch, Stevens has left no stone unturned during training as he prepares to step out under the bright lights once again.
“ I’ve had some really hard sparring in the build up to this fight but I’m absolutely loving the training. I can’t sleep at night thinking about this title and I’m just buzzing to get in that ring now”
“ I really think me a Luke Pearson will put on one of the best shows the league has ever seen, and hopefully there will be a big local following from Essex there to support me when I lift that belt"
Stevens challenge for the Queensbury regional featherweight title will take place on Saturday October 29th at the millennium arena in the Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex, and for more information on the rest of the line up including the main event showdown for the league's National Middleweight title between champion Joel "Smoke" Wanderema and challenger Kieran "Lights Out" Leinster, CLICK HERE
