Queensbury Boxing League - Buster Ready To Make Dream A Reality

Regional featherweight title challenger "Bad Boy" Buster Stevens say's nothing will stop him winning his first title this Saturday night in Epsom.

The 19-year-old from Canvey Island in Essex will face undefeated rival Mace Ruegg for the title in a winner takes all showdown on the undercard of the big Divide And Conquer promotion.

Stevens will enter the bout brimming with confidence after racking up three very impressive wins since teaming up with new coach Mick Cain, and the Essex stylist believes beating Ruegg on Saturday will prove he belongs alongside the best the division has to offer.

"Boxing for this title gives me the opportunity to prove my worth in the division and it really is a dream come true to get the chance to win a Queensbury title, said Stevens.

"Some people box as a hobby but for me the dream is to win titles and pursue a career as a professional boxer, and on Saturday night I will win that title and make a dream come true"

Standing between Stevens and the biggest win of his young career at the weekend will be undefeated rival Mace Ruegg. Bournemouth's Ruegg has already made a big impression in the competition since joining the league back on Season 7 when he captured the super featherweight title on his debut beating Daryl Goddard, but Stevens is confident not even Ruegg can stop his march to victory.

" I'm coming into this fight off the back of three good wins and since teaming up with trainer Mick Cain I've not lost a fight, continued Stevens.

"I live, eat and breathe this sport and no amount of pain will stop me winning that title and showing people that I belong at this level.

"There can be only one winner on Saturday night and that winner will be me, and I can't wait to step into that ring and claim what's mine"

Stevens challenge for the title will take place this Saturday night in the Oaks arena at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey and for ticket information contact the box office on 0203 7518599.
