It was launched back in February of this year as another exciting addition to the league's all action fight nights, offering the ever expanding stable of novice fighters the chance to enter the league and gain valuable experience before making the move onto the bigger Queensbury main event shows, and this Saturday night the league will return with the long awaited second installment of the Challenger Fight Night Series at the Effingham Park Hotel.
With the first event back in February providing some of the most memorable wars in the league this season, Saturday's fourteen bout card has all the ingredients to produce another cracking evening of action as a whole new crop of boxers take their first steps inside the UK's premier boxing league in search of glory. Headlining Saturday's show, Super Middleweight's Jason Pile-Gray and Tom Dolan will face off in what will undoubtedly be a candidate for fight of the night after the pair were both involved in fantastic fights in their league debuts both against Croydon's Stephen Hamilton.
Margate's Pile-Gray was last in action in the league on the inaugural Challenger show when he made his debut against fellow debutant Stephen Hamilton in what many considered to be the fight of the night performance, and with the contest ending in stalemate in a fight many thought Pile-Gray had edged, he will be hungry to register his first win under the Queensbury banner on Saturday night.
For Sidcups Dolan, Saturday will be his second league outing in 2012 after looking impressive in his debut on the league's Striking Distance show when he edged out Hamilton in another close fight, and with the league's Super Middleweight division wide open at the moment. the winner can look forward to bigger things next year. With the shows undercard featuring bouts from Heavyweight, right the way down to Light Welterweight in one of the biggest line ups of this year, the show looks set to carry on the Queensbury tradition for promoting some of the UK's most atmospheric nights of boxing action available. Tickets for Saturday's show are still available priced at £35 for the standard seats and £45 for the inner VIP ringside.
