Light Middleweight Tony Chaplin say’s he is in the best shape of his life ahead of his long awaited return to action on the Feel The Heat undercard.
Chaplin, 29 from Carshalton will lace up the gloves for the first time in over two years on Saturday June 13th to face Kieran Wallis at the league’s big night of championship boxing at the Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex, and the undefeated stylist can not wait to thrust himself back into the mix after whipping himself into peak condition under the guidance of new trainer Ian Johnson.
Chaplin’s last appearance in the competition back in March 2013 saw him beat dangerous rival Artif “Hitman” Daniels on points before taking an extended break from the sport to concentrate on work and family, but since his return to the gym Chaplin say’s he has rediscovered his love for the sport and will be more than ready for Wallis when that first bell sounds.
Talking ahead of his next assignment Chaplin said: “ Its been a long time since I boxed in the league but I’m feeling in great condition and I could literally fight tomorrow I feel that ready.
“ Since my last training camp I’ve teamed up with trainer Ian Johnson down at the Like 2 Box gym in Redhill and I’ve really been put through the mill to get myself back into fighting shape, and for the last couple of months I’ve been putting in the work in preparation for this night.
“ Training wise I’ve been working on lots of things but for this camp I’ve been getting in loads of sparring with some of the shows other big names that box out of the gym which has really helped, and I'm confident all of the hard work is going to show on the big night.
Chaplin’s showdown against Wallis takes place on Saturday June 13th at the Millennium Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex, and for more information on the full line up CLICK HERE
