QBL light middleweight contender O’Shane Clarke is ready for the biggest fight of his life early next month, as he continues his preparation for his national title challenge.
The 21-year-old star from Reading in Berkshire travels to the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey on Saturday September 5th to face Northampton’s fellow contender Nathan “Too Slick” Leeson in the co main event of the league's Grudge Match promotion, and the man dubbed “Sugar” for his sweet skills has never been in better shape.
Clarke, who trains out of the Camberley Boxing Club in Surrey has quickly established himself as one of the shows most promising stars after impressing the league's fans with back to back wins over former British title challenger Tommy Marcon and Matar Sambou, and Clarke's coach David Johnson believes Leeson will not be able to live with him when the pair finally share the ring in Surrey.
Assessing his young charges chances of victory next month Johnson said: “ O’Shane is really in the zone for this fight and in my eye’s Leeson will not be able to live with him on September 5th”
“ I’ve watched Leeson in action and he’s a slick fighter with good movement, but that’s about it”
“ So far in his league career I’ve not seen anything that suggests Leeson has got the power to hurt O”Shane, and all I can see is Leeson getting peppered with shots all night long”
“Over the last few month’s I’ve seen a new maturity in O”Shane which has been reflected in the way he’s training for this fight, and I know Leeson will never have fought anyone of O’Shane’s calibre before so we’ll be bringing that belt home without a doubt".
Clarke's challenge for the vacant title will feature as the co main event on the league's Grudge Match promotion on Saturday September 5th at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and for ticket information call the box office on 0203 751 8599
