QBL regional middleweight champion Ben Davies believes his hotly anticipated rematch with archrival Bryan Richardson will be a definite contender for fight of the year, when the pair step through the ropes to settle their feud in September.
The 26 year old champion will once again put his title and two year winning streak on the line against the Berkshire challenger when the duo meet at the league's GRUDGE MATCH promotion on September 5th at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and after the bitter disappointment of their June 13th encounter being cut short with Richardson sustaining as nasty laceration to his eye after an accidental clash of heads, champion Davies is more determined than ever to prove he’s the better man.
“ On September 5th there will be absolutely no doubt in my mind that I will be leaving that ring as the champion, and the only hand being raised in this fight will be mine, said Davies.
“ Our first fight was warming up nicely until the cut forced the referee to step in and stop the fight, and I think we will just pick up from where we left off and get straight down to the fight.
“ After the disappointment of the last one I feel even more determined to win this one and put on a massive performance for all the Redhill fans that will be coming to watch, and on top of the title there will be a lot pride at stake and there is no chance of me coming away without the win.
Davies title defence will feature on the league’s packed Grudge Match show taking place on Saturday September 5th at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and for more information on the rest of the line up click HERE
