Queensbury regional Middleweight champion Ben Davies has promised to smash title challenger Bryan Richardson this Saturday night at the Millennium arena, when the champion goes toe to toe with his latest rival.
The Redhill champion was in bullish mood today ahead of the huge night of action at the league's summer blockbuster Feel The Heat, and Davies has warned the man from Thatcham that there is absolutely no chance that he'll be coming into his back yard and taking the title away from hiim in front of his army of home town fans.
Davies has not tasted defeat in over two years and has captured both novice and regional Middleweight belts during his impressive run, and the champion fired out a warning to Richardson telling his rival that he's going to be in for a painful night right from the opening bell.
" On Saturday night I'm ready to smash Bryan Richardson and I'm going to meet fire with fire if he brings it to me like he say's he's going to, said the champion.
" All the talk from him in the build up to this fight has been about how he's going to be too big and too strong for me, but on Saturday night he's in for a massive shock and he won't be leaving that ring with my belt.
" My training for this fight has been spot on and I can honestly say I've never been as fit and as strong as I feel right now, and I'm treating this as a make or break fight as there is a lot riding on the result, so everyone watching this fight can look forward to watching me send Richardson back down the ladder after I beat him.
" Like Richardson I wear my heart on my sleeve and I fight with real passion every time I step into that ring, and this weekend you'll see the best Ben Davies there has ever been and I'll put on a performance that will show that.
Tickets for Davies versus Richardson this Saturday night in the Millennium arena at the Copthorne Effingham Park hotel are priced at £35, £60 and £75 and can be purchased from the boxing office by calling 0203 751 8599
