Slough’s former amateur boxing star Andrew Doe has promised to take the Queensbury Boxing League by storm next month, when he makes his debut on the packed Resurrection undercard.
Twenty year old Welterweight Doe will step through the ropes on Saturday April the 19th at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey to take on Scotland’s Ahmed Ibrahim in a four round contest, and the three times ABA champion has already set his sights on winning titles this year as he bids to become the first champion in the competition from Slough.
Doe got his first taste of the limelight last month at the Alexandra Palace in London when he was interviewed by British Eurosport ahead of the big night, and after seeing friend Ruben Giles win the competitions British Middleweight title in London, Doe is confident his wealth of experience gained during his time in the amateur ranks will give him a big advantage when he starts his quest for glory.

Doe does not need to look far for inspiration after watching close friend and former Olympian Billy Joe Saunders rise to boxing stardom over the past couple of years after winning the British and Commonwealth titles, and the Slough native believes boxing in the league will give him a huge boost as he bids to emulate Saunders triumphs.
“I’ve seen Billy Joe do really well in his boxing career and it definitely motivates me to do the same.
“ Training wise I’m getting up at 6:30am and doing my road work and then I’m straight into the gym after work working on everything else, so I’m taking this chance very seriously.
