Queensbury Boxing League - Felix Goes Old School In Bid For Glory

National Light Heavyweight title contender Dominic Felix say’s he's been adopting an old school approach to his training ahead of the biggest night of his boxing life at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace.

Felix, 34 from Northampton will collide with former British Light Cruiserweight title challenger Duane "Hot Shot" Sinclair on Saturday July 12th in the Capital as he bids to become champion in only his second fight since signing to compete in the league, and if Felix can emerge with the title he will also make league history by joining his older brother Jason as the first brothers to hold National titles at the same time in the Queensbury Boxing League.

Felix was last in action back in March at the Alexandra Palace when he edged out Oxford’s Terry Russell to secure his shot at title, but after the disappointment of not performing to his best ability on his debut Felix is determined to produce the performance of his career and return home with the title at the league's biggest summer show of all time.

“ On July 12th I’m facing a very skilled individual in Duane Sinclair for the Light Heavyweight title, but that matters not as I know my destiny, commented Felix.

“I’ve seen Sinclair in action a couple of times in the league and I can see he’s a tidy boxer, but he’s not outstanding in any department and I’ve seen what I need to exploit in this fight and I’m preparing very hard for the challenge.

Northampton’s Felix has been taking his training right back to basics in the build up to his quest for title glory in the league, and the full time personal trainer believes it will be a very different fight from his debut in the competition.

“This will be a totally different fight from the Russell encounter and much more of a boxing match as Russell was one dimensional and just came forward all night.

"If you look at both myself and Sinclair we've both got long levers and prefer to box, so technically this will be a great fight and one I am more than confident of winning.

Felix versus Sinclair will feature on the packed Kings Of The Palace blockbuster taking place on Saturday July 12th at the Alexandra Palace, and tickets for the event are priced at £35, £60, £75 and £100.
