On Saturday September 22nd reputations and undefeated records will be put on the line when reigning Queensbury Middleweight kingpin Gareth Gardner collides with fellow undefeated contender Danny Shannon in a mouthwatering top of the bill battle for the league's vacant English Light Middleweight strap. Since entering the league back in 2011, Gardner has confirmed his status as the league's most successful competitor racking up British title wins in both the Super Middleweight and Middleweight divisions, and he will now face the talented Shannon for a chance to make history on the league's most talent packed card of boxing this year. For twenty one year old Shannon the contest will represent his biggest step up in class to date in a career that has seen him rack up eleven straight wins since leaving the amateur ranks behind, and after taking care of the highly rated James Higgy from Manchester last time out, Shannon feels confident he can produce the goods in what promises to be a thriller.
Also in title action on the bill British Light Welterweight champion Jimmy Harrison will look to continue his reign at the top of the league's 10 stone division when he takes on Telford's Shaun Walton in the first defence of his title, Queensbury Southern Area Cruiserweight champion Steve Orford faces a tough first defence of his crown against Bath's Ed Martin, Dagenham's Craig Hardy will challenge London's Danny Parsons for the vacant Southern Area Lightweight title, Ben Middleton will look to continue his knockout run when he locks horns with Huzaifah Iqbal for the novice Light Heavyweight belt and Lightweight's Tobiano Mancuso and George Greenslade will renew acquaintances when the pair contest the league's vacant novice title after their previous non title affair ended in stalemate.
Tickets for the fourteen bout extravaganza at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey are already on sale priced at £35, £50 and £60, and for further information on availability please call the league's ticket information line on 07547 022 244.
