New Queensbury Light Middleweight signing Cathal Geraghty has promised to deliver a career best performance on his league debut next month, when he stakes his claim for glory in the UK's premier boxing league.
The Irish stylist will lock horns with undefeated QBL contender Tony Chaplin at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey at one of this seasons biggest nights of action, and Geraghty is under no illusions that he will need to be at his very best if he is to hand the local favourite is first career defeat in front of the partisan crowd.
Geraghty is no stranger to success in the squared circle after capturing multiple titles boxing outside of the league's ranks on the London circuit, and Geraghty could find himself catapulted into championship contention if he can add Chaplin's scalp to his impressive list of accolades in boxing.
Looking ahead to the impending clash Geraghty said " Tony Chaplin looks like a sharp technical boxer who can also mix it up when he needs to, so I think this fight is going to be very exciting and explosive for the fans to watch"
" Outside of the league I've captured a number of belts at Light Middleweight and defended them as well, but I think boxing Chaplin is going to really bring the best out in me and I'm excited for this fight"
" Gameplan wise I don't really focuc too much on the strategy as I leave that down to my team who have been studying some of his previous outings in the league, but I know I've been pushed harder than ever in my preparations for this fight so I'm going to be ready for anything on September 5th"
