Light heavyweight contender James Hamilton has set his sights on continuing his unbeaten at the start of season 6 next Saturday night, when he laces up the gloves for his third competitive outing in the Queensbury Boxing League.
The 26-year-old from Surrey will face a tough assignment on Saturday February 6th, when he meets new league signing Lloyd Skull at the Copthorne Millennium Hotel in West Sussex on the undercard of the big Who Dares Wins promotion, and victory could pave the way for Hamilton to put himself in line for a shot at the novice Light Heavyweight title this year.
Hamilton was last in action back in September on home soil at the Epsom Downs Racecourse when he ground down Sussex fighter Shaun Burt to record his second league win, and the Epsom man is confident he’ll be more than ready for Skull on the 6th after settling down and training hard over the festive period.
“Since my last fight all “I’ve been doing is training hard and working on lots of technical stuff, so this time I’m feeling really confident and looking forward to putting it all into practice, said Hamilton.
“When I first fought in the league my fitness wasn’t that good and I was not that experienced in making the weight properly, but now that’s changed and I’m fitter and stronger than I’ve been before, and I’m looking forward to putting all the new skill into action”
“My opponent on the 6th is going to be tough as he’s coming down from Heavyweight and will be strong at the weight, but I’ve been concentrating on my jab and getting that working so its now down to me to perform on the night.
Hamilton’s contest against Skull will take place on Saturday February 6th in the Millennium arena at the Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel, and for more information on the rest of the fight card click HERE
