UNDEFEATED Greenwich boxer Kieron Harris is looking to claim his third title when he competes in the Queensbury Boxing League ‘Quest Knockout Tournament’.
The tournament, staged at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, on Saturday (September 8) will see Harris joined by Ben Davies, Matt Flavel, Jordan Tucker, Olamide Dedegbe, Ross Brand, and Aaron Lowery.
“It’s a three fight tournament with eight fighters, it’s going to be a challenging one but I’m really looking forward to it, three fights in one night,” Harris said.
“I train hard, I’ve got good coaches and I just box really. I try not to get involved and just box. I’ve just got to box and keep it simple, hit and not be hit.
“There are some really good boxers in the tournament, it’s going to be interesting and a challenge to say the least but I think I’ll be able to overcome those obstacles and leave victorious."
Harris, who has claimed the Regional super-middleweight title before, added the National middleweight title to his collection in his last fight in July, when he defeated Ricky James via decision.
“In my last fight I fought Ricky James, and he was a tough guy. I basically just boxed and tried to stay away. I knew he was an aggressive come forward fighter,” Harris said.
Harris stands undefeated with six wins in as many fights within the QBL, however, the Greenwich man cited he has still not shown his full potential yet, and will look to use the tournament as a showcase to do so.
“Since I’ve joined the Queensbury Boxing League I’ve shown snippets of what I can do,” Harris said.
“But I haven’t been able to show my full potential, so hopefully in the tournament I can show everything, all the different aspects of my game.
“I want that belt because it will be my third belt and it means a lot, I like the colour of it as well.”
