He May Not Hear The Final Bell Warns Murataj

Queensbury Boxing League - He May Not Hear The Final Bell Warns Murataj

Andy Murataj believes his QBL debut next weekend has the potential to be a contender for the “fight of the night”, as he prepares for the biggest night of his boxing career.

The 32-year-old from Brighton in East Sussex will compete on the undercard of the Reisser Edge Of Glory promotion in front of the Eurosport camera’s at the famous Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey next Saturday night, and Murataj has fired out a warning to his opponent telling him he may not hear the final bell.

Murataj’s first hurdle to success in the competition comes in the form of Eastbourne super middleweight Joe McCann who like Murataj also makes his debut on the 9th, and after already briefly sharing a ring with McCann when the pair faced off in their auditions to book a place on the show, the Brighton man says he has nothing to fear from his next opponent.

Talking ahead of the showdown Murataj said “ After already sharing the ring with Joe he’s got my respect, but I really don’t see how he’s going to be able to give me any problems when we meet in the ring for real”

“ I’ve faced lots of boxers like Joe who have got that amateur style of boxing, but what I have is the ability to both box and fight and that is going to give me the advantage”

Training under the guidance of coach Andras Hizo on the south coast, Murataj has only tasted defeat once in a 7 fight career that has seen him win titles on local promotions, and after putting in a gruelling training schedule in preparation for the fight, the Brighton stylist is only focussing on emerging victorious.

“Everyone I train with knows I work incredibly hard in the gym and I’m never out of shape, and for this fight I’ve been training twice a day six days a week to make 100% sure I’m ready”

“ I can see this being a very exciting fight and it could just be the best fight of the night, and I’m very confident of winning and even stopping Joe before that final bell sounds”

Murataj’s debut will take place on Saturday April 9th in the Oaks Arena at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and for further information on the night log on to www.queensburyboxing.co.uk
