Welterweight title challenger Ashley Dansie say’s the recent trash talk from Anthony Ayinde has motivated him to train even harder this time around, as the duo prepare to settle their long running rivalry next month in a mouth watering title decider.
Dansie will collide with novice champion Ayinde on the undercard of the league’s huge Rise Of The Warriors season opener taking place on Saturday February 7th at the Millennium Arena in West Sussex, and with the bitter taste of defeat still fresh in Dansie’s mouth after Ayinde handed the young contender his only ever defeat in the competition back in September to make it one win apiece, the Redhill based challenger believes Ayinde’s small taste of glory will be short lived when Dansie ends their trilogy of battles with a win.
The pair first shared the ring together on their respective league debuts back on Season 3, when Dansie emerged with a hard fought points victory over his Surrey rival, but Ayinde levelled the score a year later reversing the verdict and claiming the title in a fight Dansie and his fans clearly thought they had won. But this time around Dansie admits that he will be in the best shape he has ever been in and is confident Ayinde will not be able to make good on his pre fight hype of making him wish he’d never taken the rematch.
Talking ahead of the fight Dansie said: “ I’ve heard what Anthony has had to say in the build up to this fight and all that trash talking has made me more motivated to train even harder and win that belt”
“In the last fight I felt I had done enough to win the title and apart from the second round I pushed forward and believe I beat him on the inside and made him box on the back foot the whole fight”
“ He’s talked about how hard he hits and how this time around he’s going to push me back in the fight, but from experience he doesn’t hit that hard and I don’t think he’s going to be strong enough to do anything that he says, so I’m coming into this fight with everyone wanting to watch the fight after what happened last time out and I’m ready to finish this third fight with the win”
Dansie's challenge for the novice title will feature on the undercard of Daniel Spencer's first defence of his National Middleweight crown against challenger John Hefford, and for ticket information and availabilty call the box office on 0203 751 8599
