Queensbury Boxing League - Holloway Promises Exciting Showdown

Sam Holloway has guaranteed his fans excitement this Saturday night when he steps through the ropes to face London’s Rossco Parker in one of the biggest rematches in the history of the Queensbury Boxing League.

Holloway was last in action back in March at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey when he suffered his first league defeat at the hands of Northampton’s Danny Lineham in his challenge for the league’s vacant English Middleweight title, but the twenty five year old roofer from Ramsgate has been given a second bite at the cherry after Lineham relinquished the belt to challenge British Middleweight ruler Gareth Gardner on June 29th, and Holloway will now contest the title against old rival Parker who he beat back in March 2012 to capture the English Super Middleweight title.

Parker will be entering the showdown with Holloway off the back of a career best performance last time out that saw him edge out former British Middleweight title challenger Michael McPherson with a gutsy display, but the Ramsgate stylist believes it will be his hand raised once more when the pair collide, and this time the manor of victory will be far more decisive.

“ I’m proper excited about Saturday's fight with Parker, and I’m guaranteeing all my fans that this will be an exciting fight, and another win for me, commented Holloway.

“My first fight with Rossco last year was a tough fight, but I didn’t think it was as close as everyone made out. He came forward during the fight and threw lots of punches, but most of them were hitting the gloves, where as my shots where catching him flush and I scored the knockdown in the third round”

“I think for this next fight I need to use my boxing ability more, stick behind the jab and look for the shots. There is no doubt in my mind that this is going to be a hard fight again as Rossco only has one way of fighting, straight forward and in your face, but I’m more than confident that it will be myself taking then win and in better style this time"

Holloway’s clash with Parker will headline the league’s exciting “In The Line Of Fire” promotion at the Effingham Park Hotel in Copthorne, West Sussex, which is being filmed for British Eurosport, and the full line up for the show can be found by clicking HERE
