New Queensbury middleweight prospect Stephen Shields say’s he is ready to “mix it up” with any of his divisional rivals this season, as he prepares for next weekends debut on the Reisser High Stakes promotion.
The former amateur boxer will enter the league for the first time on Saturday May 14th after building a solid reputation for himself outside of the league’s ranks on the London boxing circuit, and after picking up several title wins on his journey to the top, Shields is confident he’ll win the fans over with his flashy style.
Up first for the Milton Keynes based stylist will be a formidable challenge in the shape of exciting Kent boxer Lenny Fuller. Like Shields Fuller has also looked impressive campaigning outside of the league winning titles on his own boxing quest, and both men are confident of recording the victory on a massive night of action.
Talking ahead of next weekends clash Shields commented, “ I’ve been a fan of the league for a few years now after watching it on Eurosport, and I’m buzzing now that I’m making my debut.
“ I know the league’s middleweight division is the place to be with so much talent already in it, and I believe I can mix it with anyone in that division"
Shields and Fuller will collide on the undercard of the big National middleweight title showdown main event between challengers Ben Davies and Joel Wanderema, and Shields is confident he can be challenging for titles in the competition if he can get past Fuller on the 14th.
“ I’m looking forward to showing people what I can do next weekend and putting on a show”
“ I'm confident I can win titles in the league and move up the rankings to the top, so I’m working harder than ever in the gym to be ready for this fight”
Shields versus Fuller will feature on the undercard of the Queensbury National Middleweight title clash between challengers Ben Davies and Joel "Smoke" Wanderema, and for ticket information call the box office on 0203 751 8599
