Queensbury English Light Welterweight title challenger Shane Graham say’s he has everything to gain and nothing to lose later this month when he steps through the ropes for the biggest fight of his boxing life.
Graham will travel down to Crawley in West Sussex to challenge fellow undefeated contender Brad Halford for the vacant title in the main event of the league's upcoming Courage Under Fire promotion at the Effingham Park Hotel, and although Graham admits that it will not be an easy nights work for him on October 26th, he believes it will be his hand being raised at the end of an explosive battle.
Graham’s opponent on the night Halford has already establish himself in the competition after capturing the Southern Area version of the title in only his third appearance on the show, but Northampton’s Graham says his underdog status will count for nothing when the pair collide in this 50/50 showdown.
“I’m under no illusions that I’m the underdog in many people’s eyes coming into this contest, but I’ve got everything to gain and nothing to lose so I’m feeling relaxed and confident ahead of this big occasion, commented Graham.
“From the footage I’ve seen of Brad he looks like a good opponent especially after his impressive first round stoppage win over Jon Martin back in June, but I’m also coming into this fight undefeated with ten wins and six of those wins by knockout so he’s not going to be the only puncher in the ring that night.
“Training wise its all going really well for me. I’m already down to four pounds off the championship weight now, and I’m feeling strong, so after reading what Halford had to say about this contest I’m determined to get in their now and win the fight.
Graham versus Halford headlines another exciting action packed card of boxing entertainment, and tickets for the event are priced at £35, £50 and £65
