Queensbury Boxing League - Jacobs Ready To Step It Up In Epsom

New Queensbury Light Heavyweight Gavin Jacobs say’s he will be more than ready to take the step up to competing in the UK's premier boxing league in April, when he makes his debut on the under card of the shows big Reisser Edge Of Glory promotion.

Jacobs, 33 from Brighton in East Sussex will step through the ropes for his first competitive outing in the league on Saturday April 9th at the famous Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey when he meets Northampton's Daniel Burke, and Jacobs is confident he has what it takes to establish himself as a force in the division if he can get off to a winning start.

Jacobs has been a keen follower of the show over the past few years watching the likes of Lewis Pinto, Gareth Gardner and many others rise to prominence on British Eurosport, and after taking the decision to compete the Brighton man is keen to make a name for himself in the light heavyweight ranks.

“ I’ve been eyeing up competing in the Queensbury Boxing League for some time now, and now that I feel I’m ready I can’t wait for the 9th of April to come, said Jacobs.

“I’ve seen the shows on TV and watched the likes of Lewis Pinto, Gareth Gardner and Sam Holloway make names for themselves on British Eurosport, and now I feel its time for me to see how far I can go in the competition”

“ I know that this is going to be a step up for me and that I’m going to have to be at my best, but that is why I’m in boxing and I want to test myself”

“ Training wise I’m going to leave nothing to chance and I’m training twice a day six days a week with my team to make sure I’m in the best shape of my life, and looking ahead I’d like to be challenging for titles at some stage if I can keep winning.

Also making his league debut appearing alongside Jacobs on the show will be Brighton Super Middleweight champion Andy Murataj. Murataj has built up a formidable reputation outside of the league’s ranks winning several titles on local promotions, and Murataj will face Eastbourne’s Joe McCann who also makes his league debut.

Both Jacobs and Murataj will compete on Saturday April 9th in the Oaks Arena at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and for further information on the rest of the line up CLICK HERE
