Joey Knight has promised to give his fans an exciting debut performance on October 24th, when he laces up the gloves for his first competitive outing in the Queensbury Boxing League at the stacked Never Back Down promotion.
The 21 year old from Redhill in Surrey will follow in the footsteps of a number of his teammates at the Like 2 Box gym competing in the league, and the young debutant is confident he will be one of the next generation of champions to come out of the very successful gym.
Trained by coach Ian “Jumbo” Johnson alongside league champion Danny Stalford who tops the bill on the October 24th event at the Millennium Effingham Park hotel in West Sussex, Knight has been ringside on many occasions to soak up the big fight atmosphere, and he will finally realise his dream of stepping through the ropes himself at the competitions penultimate show of the season.
“ I’ve been watching my teammates fight in the league for some time now, and seeing all their success has put the fire in my belly to do it myself, said Knight.
“ Even though this is my debut I’m confident I’m going to do well because I’m surrounded by so many great boxers who I’m training with every single day, and with Jumbo there to guide me I know I’ll be ready on the 24th.
“ My plan is to come in to the league an excite people with my boxing. I want to give the fans value for money and put on a performance, and I’m training every day to make that happen.
Knight’s Queensbury debut will take place on Saturday October 24th at the Millennium Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex, and for more information on the full line up of action on the show CLICK HERE
