Light Heavyweight title contender Dwayne Jones-Grant has vowed to become National champion on March 14th, as he prepares to dethrone the champion at the Alexandra Palace.
Appearing in the main event of the League’s big arena show in North London in just 2 weeks time, Jones-Grant will collide with formidable champion Duane “Hot Shot” Sinclair in a mouth-watering showdown for the coveted title in front of the British Eurosport cameras.
The Fulham based personal trainer was last in action in the competition back in October when he snapped the undefeated record of Dagenham brawler Shaun Warren with a punch perfect display to catapult himself right into the title mix, and the West London stylist is confident it will be his hand being raised at the end of the night after the historic encounter.
Talking to Queensbury TV the challenger said: “I’m absolutely buzzing for this fight and this challenge is going to push me to my limits but I’m confident I’ll be coming home with that belt.
“My last fight against Warren will be very different to this one as Sinclair is more of a boxer so its going to be a bit of a chess match, but if it turns out to be a war then I happy to do that to as I will be ready for anything.
The champions last visit to the Alexandra back in July of last year ended dramatically in the first round when he despatched challenger Dominic Felix with a brutal right hand that broke the challenger’s jaw, and Jones-Grant is well aware of the dangers that await him in the ring next month for his biggest test.
“I know Dominic Felix well and he’s a great fighter in my eye’s so it shows you just how good Sinclair really is. I know his danger weapon is the right hand and I’m going to need to look out for that shot, but he’s going to have to cope with my speed, which is my biggest asset.
“ This really is an incredible fight and with all of my fans and his coming to watch an amazing fight the atmosphere is going to be electric.
Jones-Grant’s title challenge will headline the aptly named Thunder In London promotion on Saturday March 14th at the Alexandra Palace, and for tickets availability contact the Box Office on 0203 751 8599 or go to www.alexandrapalace.com
