Regional Welterweight ruler ID Hill has his sights firmly set on becoming a two weight Queensbury champion next weekend, as he targets a second belt at the Alexandra Palace in London.
The 29-year-old champion from Southend in Essex will return to the ring in the capital for the first time this season on March 14th to take on Bournemouth Light Welterweight champion Jon Martin in a mouth watering clash of the champions, and Hill is confident he’ll have no issues in dethroning his rival to bag himself his second belt in the competition.
Since since his arrival in the league exactly a year ago Hill has become one of the most exciting boxers on the circuit with a series of show stopping performances culminating with a dominant title defence last time out over the unbeaten Surrey challenger Danny Stalford back in November, and with the possibility of becoming the first man from Essex to hold titles in two different divisions in the league the Southend champion is eager to jump in the ring already.
Talking ahead of the title clash at one of London’s most iconic venue’s the challenger said. “ 2014 was a great year for me, and 2015 will be even bigger starting with me beating Martin and getting my second title.
“ I’ve seen Jon in action in the league and outside of the ring he seems like a nice guy, but this fight is mine to be won and on March 14th we’ll see if he’s got what it takes to beat a champion like me.
“This will be my first fight down at Light Welterweight so I’m going to need to really focus on making the weight correctly, but for me boxing is a lifestyle and with the help from my coach and the rest of my team I’ll be in the shape of my life when I step through those ropes in London.
Hill’s title challenge against Martin will take place on Saturday March 14th at the Alexandra Palace on the undercard of the Queensbury Boxing League’s Thunder In London promotion, and to find out more information on the rest of the line up and ticket information visit the Queensbury Website or the Alexandra Palace Website
