Queensbury Boxing League - No Room For Errors Say's Champion Parsons

Queensbury Regional Lightweight champion Danny Parsons says their will ne no room for error next month, when he returns to action at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey to defend his title.

Nineteen year old Parsons will face mandatory challenger Hassan Abdi as he attempts to make the fourth successful defence of the belt he captured back in 2012, and with the young champion targeting a crack at the vacant National title if he can emerge victorious once again, the stakes will be even higher this time around as he continues his impressive undefeated run.

Parsons has become one of the league's most popular boxers with his all action fan friendly style, earning him fans all over the country after several appearances on British Eurosport, and he has guaranteed his fans nothing but pure excitement on the 19th of April when he steps through the ropes to face Abdi.

Talking ahead of his next assignment Parsons said: “ I think everyone likes my style of fighting because every single time I get in that ring I just want to entertain the fans that pay good money to come and watch the show, and sometimes I should stick to my boxing more but I just love getting into a war.

“ I’ve been ringside at both Abdi’s previous fights in the league and from what I have seen he’s tall, long and likes to throw his shots, but I know he’s not been in with anyone like me before and he’s going to find it a very different experience when I’m putting the pressure on him.

Parsons was last in action at Epsom back in September when he lit up the arena with another electric performance against challenger Kingsley Stembridge to retain his title for the third time, and he believes the Abdi fight will be another contender for fight of the night on the packed fourteen fight bill.

“ I really think this is going to be an incredible fight for all the local fans to come and see, but I can’t afford to be complacent and take Abdi lightly, so I am 100% focussed on going in there and doing the job and making sure I give the fans what they want to see.

"I've got my sights firmly fixed on moving up and challenging for the National title this season, and if I lose to Abdi all those plans will be blown away so I'm going into this with victory at the front of my mind.

Parsons fourth title defence will feature on the packed fourteen fight line up taking place in the Oaks Arena at the Epsom Downs Racecourse, and to view the full ine up for the show click HERE.
