Queensbury Southern Area Lightweight champion Danny Parsons say’s he is itching to return to competitive action next month as he prepares to make the third defence of his crown on the big Pride And Glory promotion at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey.
Nineteen year old Parsons was last in action back in March when he was involved in a fight of the year contender against challenger Marc Dixon which featured on the televised portion of the show on British Eurosport,, and after emerging from that encounter with a hard fought draw to retain his title and undefeated record, Parsons has been taking time out from the sport to concentrate on the arrival of his own little champion Frankie Jay who was born back in May.
But with Parsons now confirmed on the line up for the big September 14th event, the champion feels ready to get back down to the business of defending his crown and continue to build on his growing reputation as one of the most exciting competitors on the show.
“ Its been great to have a break from boxing and also get to spend time with Frankie and the family, but now I’m itching to get back into the action and make the third defence of my title on home soil, commented Parsons.
“Looking back at the fight with Dixon I feel I made the fight much harder for myself as I stayed in the pocket too long after getting my own shots off, which allowed him to come back and keep catching me, but I’ve learnt a lot from that and I’ve been working on things in the gym”
“ I’m feeling really good right now, and the break has made me feel recharged and ready to go, and training has been going great since I returned to the gym back in June so I feel ready to fight right now”
After firmly establishing himself as one of the league’s most exciting fighters with his all action style, and the added motivation of his newborn son driving him on, Parsons has promised his fans another exciting night on the 14th when he returns.
“ All I can say to anyone thinking of coming along is expect to see another very exciting fight on the night. I’m feeling sharp and I’ve been working on lots of things in the gym to ensure I retain my title and bring it back to Kingston once more”
Parsons third title defence will feature on the packed fourteen fight line up taking place in the Oaks Arena at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and tickets are priced at £35, £50 and £65
