Roundshaws Lewis Pinto has set his sights on further title glory when he challenges Kid Bucko for the vacant Queensbury Boxing League’s British Light Middleweight title next Saturday evening at the Epsom Downs Racecourse. After claiming the Queensbury European Welterweight title in his last outing in November, the destructive puncher steps up a division in his quest for further title success and faces off against the tough and experienced Kid Bucko from Bognor Regis in what promises to be a epic clash between the two fighters.
Pinto’s march to the top of the division has seen him dispose of everyone he has faced so far, but the man from Roundshaw still see’s room for improvement and is looking to showcase his newly acquired skills in his upcoming title showdown. ” In my last fight when I won the Queensbury European title I really didn’t show the boxing ability that I had been working so hard on in the Gym. It was frustrating nights work really but I got the win and I am looking forward to fighting on the 12th and claiming another title”. The man standing in Pinto’s way is no stranger as the pair were scheduled to meet on a previous occasion, but with Bucko pulling out due to injury the clash never materialized. But this time around there will definitely be added spice to the encounter with the title on the line, and Pinto is eager to put on the performance of the evening and show his division rivals who’s number one.
“ I know Bucko and what he brings to this fight, he’s a decent boxer with lots of experience and he’s durable as well. But I know he won’t be able to match me for power or heart, and when I start to land my bombs on him and really test his chin I think he will begin to wonder what he’s got himself into. I’ve not been out of the gym since my last fight and my fitness levels have gone through the roof, so March 12th can’t come soon enough for me” With Pinto’s aggressive all action style and Bucko’s more measured boxing approach, this fight has all the ingredients to produce a memorable encounter between two hungry young fighters who both firmly believe they have what it takes to emerge victorious.
