Queensbury champion Thomas King says he will not be taking old rival Andre Grant “Lightly” in their big title showdown on April 9th, as he prepares for the biggest fight of his life
The 26 year old from Dagenham will face Grant for the second time in the league at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey next month when the pair battle it out for the vacant Queensbury Boxing League regional lightweight title in front of the British Eurosport camera’s, and after ending Grants unbeaten run in devastating fashion in the competition last season to claim the light welterweight belt, King say's he is even hungrier to repeat the feat.
Over the past two season's in the competition King has established himself as one of the league’s most promising prospects racking up a number of stand out performances on route to claiming his first title last season, and the Dagenham man is confident he will be adding a second belt to his collection on April 9th and completing the double over Grant.
Talking ahead of his showdown with Grant the Dagenham stylist said “ Even though I've beaten Andre Grant before I won't be taking him lightly on April 9th, and I still feel like I’ve got a lot to prove in the league”
“Andre Grant is doing what any man would do in taking this rematch as he’s hungry to redeem himself, and even though I think this will be a different fight I’m still 100% confident of winning”
“In the build up to the first fight I trained really hard, and I’m going to do the same for this one, and there is not only a title at stake but pride as well so this is going to be an exciting fight to watch”
King’s collision with Grant will take place on Saturday April 9th on the under card of the league's big Edge Of Glory promotion at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and for ticket information call the Box Office on 0203 751 8599.
