Former Queensbury National Light Middleweight title challenger and Quest quarter finalist Bradley "The Kid" Spencer will now face former ABA champion Kelvin Bilal Fawaz for the QBL British Middleweight on Saturday night, in the Bring It On main event in Essex.
The baby faced assassin was orginally scheduled to meet Lewis Mackay on the undercard of the event, as he targeted a shot at the National Middleweight title later this year, but with Mackay's sudden withdrawal his opportunity to claim gold in the league's marquee division by taking on the 3 times London ABA champion will come much sooner than expected.
Spencer was last in action back in May on the undercard of the league's High Stakes promotion when he disposed of veteran Paul Morby in impressive fashion, but on Saturday night the young prospect will meet Fawaz in a showdown he is itching to get on with.
" When I got the call on Tuesday to say there was a possibility of facing Kelvin in the main event of this weekends show it was a shock, but I can't wait to get in there now and face him", said Spencer.
"I've known about Kelvin for a long time and he's had amazing success in the amateurs, but I've been preparing hard for my fight with Mackay on the same night and I'm in amazing shape"
" I know he's experienced and has a lot of skills, so I'm going to have to be careful of his power, but what I bring to this fight will not make it easy for him and you are going to see me at my very best this weekend"
"Sharing the ring with him and fighting for the league's British title is going to be an honour, but I'm going in there to win and I know the fans are going to see a very entertaining fight"
Bradley Spencers quest to lift the Queensbury British Middleweight title takes place this Saturday night at the Mayfair in Chadwell Heath, Essex, and for ticket availability contact the box office on 0203 751 8599.
