The temperature outside might not reflect the fact that we are now officially in British summer time, but the league's forecast for the end of June looks set to be a scorcher with the big announcement that on Saturday June 29th the UK's premier boxing league returns to the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey to bring fight fans this summers hottest evening of boxing action.
Headlining yet another stacked line up of boxing will be for some the league's biggest Middleweight showdown in the competitions history when 3 weight ruler Gareth Gardner puts his British Middleweight title and undefeated record on the line when he steps through the ropes to face Danny "Dynamite" Lineham. For the last eighteen months New Addington's Gareth Gardner has reigned supreme in the competition racking up a perfect 6-0-0 record whilst claiming British title honours in three seperate weight divisions, and Gardner looked unstoppable last time out beating Ramsgate's Aaron Lowery to relieve him of his British Light Middleweight crown. But the Croydon crowd pleaser will now face arguably his toughest night in the ring on the 29th when he faces the number 1 ranked challenger Lineham in the third defence of is Middleweight strap.
Northampton's Lineham entered the competition back in November 2012 making an instant impact after beating Ramsgate's Andy Thompson during three brutal rounds of action, and enhanced his reputation further by ending the unbeaten run of Thompson's gym mate Sam Holloway back in March to lift the English Middleweight title. But on June 29th Lineham will step up into the cauldron to face his fiercest challenge in a clash that will no doubt set the arena alight.
More details will be announced shortly on the supporting undercard for the evenings packed line up of boxing, and for ticket information call the league's box office information line on 07547 022 244.
