Survival Of The Fittest Warns Nash

Queensbury Boxing League - Survival Of The Fittest Warns Nash

Light Middleweight prospect Patrick Nash believes it will be the survival of the fittest in the ring next Saturday night in London, when he steps through the ropes for his debut in the UK’s premier boxing league.

Nash, 27 from Farnborough will square off against fellow debutant Hamza Akram from Reading at the big Thunder In London arena show in the capital, and after watching stable mates Andre Grant and Louis Kamara make blistering starts to their Queensbury careers recently, Nash will be hoping he can get his campaign off to a flying start in front of the biggest crowd of his life.

Training out of the Henri’s boxing gym in Aldershot, Nash only took the sport up 3 years ago as a way of keeping himself in shape, but soon found himself testing his skills in the ring racking up six competitive appearances, but the Farnborough native will now find himself thrust under the spotlight at one of London's most iconic venues as he bids to continue the gyms unbeaten run.

Talking ahead of his league debut in the capital Nash said: “ For me this fight is going to come down to fitness and who wants it the most, and I’m confident I’m going to be the fittest one in there.

“ Its been a long training camp for this fight and we’ve been working hard on the game plan for Akram, so all the extra work I've been putting in will ensure I’m going to be more than ready for the 14th.

Nash won't be going into the contest completely blind after sharing a few rounds of sparring with Akram at the start of the year when the pair auditioned for the league, but Nash believes that first hand experience against Akram will count for little on the night.

“We did spar a couple rounds together but I think we were both holding back and not giving too much away so I’ve not really taken anything from that, said Nash.

“ I’ve got a bit more experience than him and know how to deal with the nerves which I think could be a big factor, but whatever happens I’ve prepared for everything and I’m looking forward to getting in there now and competing on such a huge show.

Nash's debut will feature on the stacked undercard of action next Saturday night in the capital, and for ticket information for the big night CLICK HERE or call teh Box Office on 0203 751 8599
