Queensbury regional light middleweight champion Kane Baker believes nothing will stop him retaining his title as he prepares for the first defence of the belt next month on the Reisser Make or Break undercard.
Baker will step out under the bright lights at the famous Epsom Downs Racecourse on Saturday April 8th to collide with Croydon’s undefeated challenger Steve Albone in a potentail fight of the night collision.
The champion was last in action back in September when he produced a career best performance to dominate fellow challenger Lee Cannon to get his hands on the regional title, and the Kent stylist believes his showdown with Albone is only going to go one way.
“This is going to be a tough fight against Albone, but there is no doubt in my mind I’ll enter the ring as champion and leave as the champion, said Baker.
“I’ve watched one of Albone’s fights and he reminds me a lot of Lee Cannon, so I think this fight will go exactly the same way with me just boxing my way to victory”
Since entering the competition Albone has recorded two impressive wins including his contender for fight of 2016 against Jimmy Haughney, but with Baker’s sights firmly set on keeping hold of the title it looks like his next fight could yet again produce a thriller.
“ I know this is going to be a great fight and after having to pull out of my fight in February due to injury I’m hungry to get in the ring again and put on another good performance, continued the champion.
“I’m already fighting fit and feeling in fantastic shape, so come April 8th I’ll be more than ready to adapt to what ever Albone throws at me.
Baker’s title defence against Albone will take place on Saturday April 8th at the famous Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and for ticket information call the box office on 0203 751 8599
