London's Joel "Smoke" Wanderema say's he is more than confident he can produce one of the biggest upsets in the history of the UK's premier boxing league tomorrow night at the famous Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey and become the first man to beat British Middleweight champion Gareth Gardner.
Wanderema, who was already in fight camp preparing for his own showdown on the undercard of the huge Unfinished Business promotion was handed the biggest opportunity of his career when the champion's original opponent Lloyd Miller was ruled out of the bout with a fight ending ankle injury, and the Londoner grabbed the chance with both hands.
Talking ahead of the big night Wanderema said: " Its going to be a privilege and an amazing opportunity to fight Gardner on Saturday night, and I really am confident I've got the style to cause him all sorts of problems.
" Gardner's been training for a tall southpaw in Miller and I'm the complete opposite with a very different style, and although Gardner's renowned for his relentless aggression and come forward style, I know I'll need to outsmart him and not go toe 2 toe"
" I can't tell you how much I am buzzing for this fight and the chance to fight for the British title, and believe me when I say I'm coming for that "W" and this really will turn out to be a clash of the titans on Saturday night.
